This unit will help students who have a basic understanding of Biblical Hebrew grammar to consolidate their knowledge of the language and develop their translation skills. A variety of texts from the Hebrew Bible will be read.

Learning Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of this unit, it is expected that students will be able to demonstrate:
1.       an intermediate level of skill in translating Biblical Hebrew
2.       a growing body of vocabulary
3.       an intermediate level of understanding of Hebrew grammar.
 

Assessment: 

1 x 1000 word essay 40%
1 x 2 hour written examination 60%
