I have been the Professor of New Testament within the Uniting Church Theological College since January 2009. Prior to that I taught at Northern Baptist College within the Partnership for Theological Education in Manchester, United Kingdom. I am an ordained minister with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and received my theological education at the universities of Bristol (BA Hons) and Oxford (DPhil).

Teaching Interests: 
New Testament studies with a particular focus on the Pauline literature
Research Interests: 
the interaction between theology and rhetoric in the Pauline letters, especially Philippians (the focus of my doctoral research) and 2 Corinthians; theological hermeneutics and the issue of interpretative diversity; covenantal theology in the Baptist tradition and connections with the notion of friendship in ancient and modern contexts.
