1. UFT Research Seminars
The next Research Seminar is on Wednesday 9 September at 1.05pm in room G3, Centre for Theology and Ministry. The speaker will be Renate Howe on the theme of her recent book, ‘The Student Christian movement in Australia: For and against an ecumenical interpretation’. All welcome! Please feel free to bring and eat your lunch
 
2. MCD Research Newsletter.
The Spring edition of the MCD research newsletter is available on the MCD website at http://www.mcd.edu.au/post-graduate-research-newsletter. Research students and staff in particular are encouraged to browse the MCD website and to keep in touch with current events from the Director of Research. Research students should note the forthcoming due date for Annual Reports.
 
3. UFT 2009 Reconciliation Lecture
The annual UFT Reconciliation Lecture for 2009 will be delivered on Thursday 1 October 2009 at Wyselaskie Hall at 7.30pm. This will be presented by Graeme Mundine, Executive Secretary, National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ecumenical Commission (NATSIEC) of the National Council of Churches in Australia. RSVP to 9340 8800 or email admin@uft.edu.au. Entry by donation, proceeds to Nungalinya College Darwin.
 
4. UFT Theological Student Association
The TSA Annual General Meeting will take place on 16 September 2009 at 1pm at the CTM in room G2. Please note this date in your diary and be sure to come along and support your fellow students. The TSA performs significant roles in relation to the life of the UFT, not least in providing student representatives for the UFT Academic Board and the Senatus.
 
5. UFT Prayer on Thursdays at 1.05pm
Join UFT staff and students for a short reflective service of bible readings and prayer in the CTM chapel this coming Thursday at 1.05pm.
 
6. 2010 UFT units & timetable
The 2010 timetable and units will be available on the UFT website by mid-September, following their approval by the UFT Academic Board on Monday 7 September. The printed 2010 Handbook will be available free of charge from the UFT office from late October. Enrolments for 2010 will open at the beginning of November. Students will be able to download either an MCD application form or a re-enrolment form for 2010 at that time on the MCD website at http://www.mcd.edu.au/formsprospective
 
7. Access to the UFT Office
This a reminder following recent renovations that staff, students and visitors can access the UFT office during office hours from within the CTM by using the kitchen entrance. Office hours for student access remain 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, with closure from 1.00-1.45pm for lunch, and no access on Fridays. General enquiries and submission of essays should be made to the main CTM reception desk which is staffed from 9am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays.
