1.2010 units & timetable
The UFT 2010 timetables have now been published on our website www.uft.edu.au. You can download them from 'Important links' > 'Timetables'. Please note there are different timetables for undergraduate (BTheol) and graduate (MDiv, GradDipTheol, MTS, etc) students. Copies of the unit descriptions will be loaded up to the website over the coming fortnight. The full printed 2010 Handbook will be available free of charge from the UFT office from late October. Enrolments for 2010 will open at the beginning of November. Students will be able to download either an MCD application form or a re-enrolment form for 2010 at that time on the MCD website at http://www.mcd.edu.au/formsprospective
2. UFT Theological Student Association
The TSA Annual General Meeting will take place on 16 September 2009 at 1pm at the CTM in room G2. Please note this date in your diary and be sure to come along and support your fellow students. The TSA performs significant roles in relation to the life of the UFT, not least in providing student representatives for the UFT Academic Board and the Senatus.
3. Research Seminar: Paul Beirne
The final UFT research seminar for 2009 will be presented at 1.05pm on Wednesday 16 September at CTM lecture room G3. This will be Paul Beirne, the Dean of the Melbourne College of Divinity, on his research in Korean religion, in the form of a paper entitled ‘My heart is your heart: The symbolic world of Choe Su-un’. All are welcome.
4. Access to the UFT Office
This a reminder following recent renovations that staff, students and visitors can access the UFT office during office hours from within the CTM by using the kitchen entrance. Office hours for student access remain 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, with closure from 1.00-1.45pm for lunch, and no access on Fridays. General enquiries (including making an appointment to see the Dean) should be made to the main CTM reception desk which is staffed from 9am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays. Essays are to be submitted at the UFT essay cabinet in the CTM reception area: please attach a coversheet to your essay, use the machine to stamp your essay with time and date and put the essay in the slot.
5. UFT Office closure
A reminder that the UFT office will be closed during the second week of the mid-semester break (28 September – 2 October), however CTM reception staff will be happy to answer enquiries or take messages during that period.
