1. UFT Valedictory Service
The UFT Valedictory Service for 2009 will be held at Trinity College Chapel at 3.30pm on Friday 23 October, followed by afternoon tea. All staff and students are most welcome to attend this celebration of the year’s achievements. Invitations have been forwarded by email to students on the Valedictory list. Valedicting students are urged to respond if they have not yet done so. If you have not received an invitation and are intending to complete your degree and valedict on Friday please call the UFT Office immediately. If students are unsure as to their eligibility to graduate they should ask for further advice.

2. UFT 2010 Handbook
The UFT 2010 Handbook is now available in hard copy. Collect your copy from CTM reception or from the UFT office. Copies can be posted free of charge to students who cannot access the Parkville site. The UFT Handbook is also available as a PDF on the UFT website under Important Links > Handbook. The UFT office will be able to accept reenrolments and admissions for 2010 from the beginning of November.

3. 2010 Timetables
The final timetable for 2010 is available on the UFT website under Important Links > Timetables. Students should also check out the new search engine under the ‘Units’ tab on the UFT website, where units in 2010 and future years can be identified by year, course or type of unit. This is a useful yet simple way to plan your future studies.

4. 2009 Examination Timetable
The examination timetable for semester 2, 2009 is available on the UFT website under Important Links > Timetables.

5. Lecture on Paul
The UFT in association with Monash is proud to present ‘What are they saying about Paul? A Jewish and a Christian Scholar converse’. Brendan Byrne sj (JTC) and Michael Fagenblat (Monash) will discuss Paul on Wednesday 21 October 2009 from 12noon to 1.30pm at G2 in the Centre for Theology and Ministry, 1 Morrison Close, Parkville. 6. Garry Deverell on ‘God After the Death of God’
God after the death of God. Speaker Garry Deverell, Professor of Worship and Preaching. Uniting Church Centre for Theology and Ministry on Thursday 22nd October 2009 at 1.05– 2.00pm at the Alice Hoy Building (Education), room 330. 7. Calling all Supporters of Nungalinya College

8. Book Launch Invitation
The Warden of Trinity College, Associate Professor Andrew McGowan, and the Dean of the Theological School, the Revd Dr Tim Gaden invite you to the launch of ‘God in Early Christian Thought: Essays in Memory of Lloyd G. Patterson’ (Supplements to Vigiliae Christianae, 94; Leiden: E. J. Brill, 2009), edited by Andrew McGowan, Brian Daley SJ and Tim Gaden, with remarks from Professor David Runia, Master of Queen’s College and member of the editorial board. 9. Victorian Criminal Justice Forum
The Victorian Criminal Justice Forum will be held at Salvation Army Temple, 69 Bourke Street, Melbourne on Thursday 19th November 2009, from 1.45 pm for a 2 pm start, concluding at 5 pm.  During International Restorative Justice Week, you are invited to a criminal justice forum for church leaders and the leaders of organisations involved in prisons and post prison ministries seeking to create a fairer and safer community. 10. Afghanistan Forum
‘Where to for Afghanistan? Prospects for a Just Peace’: a public forum on Sunday 18 October 2.00-5.30pm at the Centre for Theology and Ministry. 11. Refugee Crisis Forum

12. Yarra Theological Union Events
You are invited to the Australian Launch of ‘Anthropophany: Mission as Making a New Humanity’ by Jacob Kavunkal, SVD.  The launch will be presented by Jim Knight, SVD.
