1. Exam Timetable
Semester 1 Exam Timetable can now be found on display at the CTM and online at http://www.uft.edu.au/content/timetables There are three timetables on display at the CTM, one on the UFT noticeboard, one on the TSA noticeboard and one at Reception.
2. Second semester enrolment
Students are welcome to enrol in units for second semester at any time, or to vary their existing second semester enrolment. Please contact the UFT office to discuss your course, or (for existing students) submit a Change of Enrolment form (available from www.mcd.edu.au). Second semester enrolments will close on 15 July 2010, however students are encouraged to make any changes to their enrolment early to avoid delays.
3. UFT student prayer on Thursdays will resume in second semester.
A short service of midday prayer will be held in the Centre for Theology and Ministry chapel at 1pm.
4. Spirituality as an Academic Discipline, Carmelite Library Seminar
Two well-known Melbourne teachers and practitioners of Spirituality, Austin Cooper OMI (Lecturer and author in Spirituality and Church History & Head of the Department of Church History, Catholic Theological College) and Michael Smith SJ (Dean of the Institute for Christian Spirituality and Pastoral Formation & Rector of Jesuit Theological College), will deliver papers on the subject of 'Spirituality as an Academic Discipline'.
Tuesday the 8th of June, 7.30 pm refreshments will be provided. Cost: $10 or $5 for concession. Carmelite Library, 214 Richardson Street, Middle Park. Please register by Friday the 4th of June by phone (03) 9682 8553 or by email librarian@carmelitelibrary.org or thecarmelitecentre@pacific.net.au
5. Postgraduate Research Conference in Theology and Philosophy
This conference will bring together postgraduate students from the various institutions, who are researching in Theology and Philosophy and to encourage them to submit a paper proposal. Although proposals are only being sought from postgraduate students, lecturers and administrators are most welcome to attend the conference. Held at ACU St Patrick’s Campus, East Melbourne, Monday and Tuesday 27th and 28th September. The closing date for paper proposals is will be Friday 2nd July.
6. What’s so amazing about Prison Ministry?
Saturday 19th June 9.30am – 3.30pm at the Gannawarra Convention Centre, 132 Keilor Road, North Essendon (28 D12). For the first time, prison ministry volunteers from across the range of ministries represented on the Victorian Christian Prison Ministries' Forum will meet together to share, learn and inspire each other toward even more effective ministry with broken people inside and outside prison. The main speaker: Rod Wise, Assistant Commissioner, Corrections Victoria, will be reflecting with us on: the pulse, challenges and the way forward for corrections in Victoria and the part that volunteers and Christian Ministries can play. BYO lunch but morning tea is provided. Attendance free but an offering will be taken up to cover expenses.

Meditation Series - June 10, 17 and 24
Thursday 10th June, What is meditation and how to meditate; Thursday 17th June, Living Awareness/Inner Experience; Thursday 24th June, The Fruits of Meditation. All sessions held at 11.00am – 1.00pm and 7.00 – 9.00pm (Repeat sessions) Facilitator: Peter Thomas. Peter leads a weekly meditation session at The Carmelite Centre and also regularly lectures on the topic of Mindfulness. Cost: $10.00 per session ($5.00 concession)
Find Out about The Carmelites – A Discovery Day – Thurs June 17 or Sat June 19. This discovery day will enable you to experience the unique Carmelite charism. Using introductory booklets, sessions will explore the main elements of Carmelite Spirituality in the context of Christian history and the background of the Order. Time: 10.00 – 4.00 pm on both days, Cost: $5.00 per booklet (2 booklets).
Health, Wellbeing and Healing Workshop – Saturday 26th June
Relax the body – Quieten the Mind!
A workshop to gain increased inner peace, vitality and wellbeing. You will learn practical steps to developing a practice of meditation as well as tips to ease stress, pain and old injury with the Feldenkrais method. Facilitators: Peter Thomas & Ruth Avery, Cost: $60.00 ($50.00 concession)
8. Parliament of World Religions newsletter
The latest installment from the Parliament of World Religions is available online at www.parliamentofreligions.org. This includes information and highlights of the 2009 Parliament as well as information about the bid for the 2014 Parliament. There are also articles including ‘Georgetown University Releasing a “Bridging Babel” Report’, ‘Engaging Religious Communities Abroad’ and ‘Interfaith Relations: 5 Defining Events’.
