1. Online Results for Semester One
The launch of results online has been a great success. UFT Students were sent by email instructions on how to view their results.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact the UFT Receptionist Kim Anderson on 9340 8890 or Kim.Anderson@ctm.uca.edu.au.  Remember you can check your second semester enrolment summary when you check your results.
 
2. Semester 2 Enrolment close Thursday 15th July 2010 
If you need to vary your existing enrolment for second semester please complete the MCD Change of Enrolment form available from www.mcd.edu.au and send them to the UFT office (not the MCD). Students are encouraged to make any changes to their enrolment now to avoid delays.
 
If you are an existing student but did not study in first semester please complete a 2010 MCD Re-enrolment form.  Students can contact the UFT office on 9340 8890 and speak with the receptionist Kim Anderson to arrange an appointment with the dean Peter Sherlock to discuss their course, or can send their enquiry by email to the registrar Margaret Tropea on admin@uft.edu.au.
 
Know someone who may be interested in learning about study options at the UFT? Please encourage them to contact the UFT office on 9340 8890 before the 15th of July.
 
3. Welcome Day and Academic Skills Workshops
This semester a series of workshops for students are being offered Thursdays from the 22nd July – 9th of September.
 
The UFT Welcome Day for new students will be held on Thursday 22nd July in CTM classroom G2 from 12 noon – 2pm.  Sandwiches will be provided so please rsvp to Kim Anderson (details below) by Monday 19th July.
 
The workshops may be taken by anyone currently enrolled in a UFT unit and will be held in the Reader Education Room of the Dalton McCaughey Library (at the north end of the second floor) on Thursdays from 2.15pm – 4.15pm. The workshop topics include: Making the Most of Classes, Planning Your Essay, Making the Most of Library Research., Writing Your Essay, Footnotes and Bibliographies, Putting it all Together – and Taking it Apart.
 
Students interested in attending all or some of the sessions must register, and can do so to Kim Anderson at the CTM reception desk, by phone 9340 8890, via email Kim.Anderson@ctm.uca.edu.au or in person. Places are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
4. MCD 2010 Centenary and ANZATS Conferences
The MCD and ANZATS Conferences held this week were overwhelmingly successful with many people attending and enjoying hearing from a great range of presenters.  Many thanks to the students and staff who attended and contributed to these two important events.
 
5. Last Cuppa Holiday Closure
The Last Cuppa Café is closed for the holiday break until Monday 19 July.
 
6. UCA and Asylum Seekers

7. Upcoming Children, Youth and Families Event: Overflow
Overflow is a Children & Families training event held annually in Victoria for anyone engaged in ministry with children and families in the church, school or local community contexts across the state.  This year it is running at the Centre for Theology and Ministry in Parkville on the 31st of July and it features a new Cross Cultural Ministry stream.  For more information and to register visit http://overflow2010.goregister.com.au
 
8. Children and Families Ministry Update
During July, there are three different Children and Families event happening across Victoria and Tasmania.
 
Sunday July 11, 2.30pm – 4.30pm, Armadale Baptist
This Vocal Workshop for Worship Leaders, Singers and Anyone who is interested features “Tips and tricks” (vocal techniques and new songs) and “Access all Areas” (community building techniques for Worship Leading). Come along to test drive some new techniques in an embarrassment‐less/no‐fail environment, learn a bunch of great new songs, sample strategies for high connection singing and think about the ways our voice connects and creates community.

July 24, 9am – 4.30pm, Bendigo “Refresh” Children & Families Ministry Conference
For those living throughout the North and North West of Victoria, Bendigo “Refresh” is suitable for those in involved with Children and Families ministry in local congregations or local schools. Registration costs $30 or $25 for pensioners/students or groups of 5+. Southern Tasmania – Children & Families Ministry Training Event
Wednesday July 28, 6.30pm - 9.45pm in Hobart North this event features Terry Williams (International Children’s Ministry specialist) and elective leaders from across Australia. It will be an excellent evening for anyone engaged in local church, school or community based ministry. 9. Richard Giles Melbourne Workshops
Richard Giles is an Anglican priest who has particular expertise in the design of iturgical space bore fruit in the publication of Re-Pitching the Tent, now in its third edition, Creating Uncommon Worship (2004) and Times and Seasons (2008). From 1999 to 2008 he was Dean of Philadelphia Cathedral in the Diocese of Pennsylvania, USA, where he oversaw the radical renovation of the cathedral to become a place of transformative worship. In 2008 he became a Visiting Fellow of St John’s College, Durham. www.liturgyworks.org.uk. There are a number of events where you can hear Richard Speak.  At each event a donation of $10 is suggested to cover the cost of bringing Richard to Australia.

10. ABC Radio Encounter: Theological Education and the University
Encounter of ABC Radio explores the history, shape and future of theological education in Australia on Sunday 11th of July at 7am and then repeated Wednesday 14th of July at 7pm.
