UFT news
5. Sean Winter, UCTC New Testament Professor with UFT just received the news that their application for a permanent resident visa has been approved.
Sean and his family left Melbourne at short notice in the middle of the year in order to follow due processes to obtain a visa which would allow permanent residence in Australia. While he has been away, he has taken study
leave, much of it located in Italy, and continued some UFT teaching commitments. He has just returned from the SBL meeting where he presented two papers.
Sean and his family plan to arrive back in Melbourne in the latter part of January, in preparation for the children to begin school and for Sean to resume his classroom teaching commitments in February.
The UFT community will be very pleased, and relieved, to have them back again.
6. Mary Ward Grant 2012
Congratulations to UFT student Alicia Deak who has received a Mary Ward Grant for 2012. The Mary Ward Grants are awarded by the Loreto Sisters Australia to support students of theology, spirituality and pastoral ministry. They honour the vision of Mary Ward, who believed passionately in the education of women to their full potential and to the highest contemporary standards. We wish Alicia all the best in her continuing studies at UFT next year.
7. Ordinations and Placements for UFT students
The UFT congratulates all its graduates who are preparing for ordination and placements in the coming months. Please let us know details of your ministries so we can pray for you and show our support.
