1. Second Semester Results
Second semester results were released to students online on Thursday 8 December 2011 and instructions emailed to all students. Remember to check your personal details are up to date as you collect your results. Please advise the UFT registrar Margaret Tropea of any changes to your contact details by emailing a Change of Personal Details form (available on www.mcd.edu.au/forms) to registrar@uft.edu.au. If you have any difficulty collecting your results please ring Bethany Broadstock on 9340 8890 who can walk you through the online process.
2. 2012 Enrolment
All the information you need to reenrol is available on our website: see information for New students and Existing students, Timetables and Enrolment forms. Hard copies of forms may be collected from CTM/UFT reception or the UFT office. Re-enrolling students should complete 2012 re-enrolment forms by Thursday 15 December 2011. If you know anyone thinking of commencing theological study at the UFT in 2012, please encourage them to make a time to see the Dean or contact the Registrar. Prospective students can see details of our courses at www.uft.edu.au/courses and should also visit www.uft.edu.au/content/enrolment

5. MCD University of Divinity
We are delighted to announce that on 8 December the Victorian Parliament approval processes for MCD University of Divinity were completed. This makes MCD Uni the first new University in Victoria since 1993, and Australia’s first University of Specialisation. The new institution comes into being on 1 January 2012, building on over 100 years of the Melbourne College of Divinity. Students will notice some cosmetic changes in coming months as the new name appears on forms and websites. The most immediate change will be that, beginning with the 2012 Conferral ceremony, all graduands will receive their degrees and diplomas from MCD University of Divinity.
6. UFT Handbook 2012
From the UFT Dean: A number of students have been seeking copies of the 2012 Handbook which is not yet available. I apologise for this delay. All students should note, however, that they will need to re-enrol using the materials (forms, timetables, and unit descriptions) which have been available on the UFT website since 1 September. The UFT Handbook is not a tool to aid students in enrolling as it does not include details of units and courses, but instead is a guide to studying at UFT for enrolled students including details on student services and essay guidelines. The reason for the shift to a web-based enrolment process is two fold: first, we can provide details to students more quickly than a print-based process allows, and second, the interface at www.uft.edu.au/timetable allows you to search for the units available to your specific course. Copies of the new Handbook will be freely available from the UFT office in late January 2012 and you will receive an email as soon as they are ready.
7. Office closure Christmas 2011
The UFT office will close at midday on Thursday 22 December 2011 and will reopen at 9am on Tuesday 3 January 2012.

9. Luther and the Emotional Dynamics of the Reformation: Public Lecture
All are welcome to attend this public lecture by Professor Lyndal Roper, Regius Professor of History at the University of Oxford on Wednesday 14 December 2011 from 6.15-7.30pm at Theatre D, Old Arts Building, University of Melbourne. Examining Luther’s emotions, this lecture examines how the Reformation, a theological and intellectual movement, was also profoundly emotional. This lecture is hosted by the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies and the Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions.
10. December Children and Families Ministry
For the most recent newsletter on Children and Families Ministry with Christmas and Advent Ideas, Messy Church update, recent research and articles, and learning possibilities in 2012, see ctm.uca.edu.au/children-families-ministry or contact Chris Barnett on (03) 9340 8806 or Chris.Barnett@ctm.uca.edu.au.
11. Call for papers ‘God Crucified: A Future for Jesus?’
On 15 and 16 June 2012 a workshop wil be held at the Centre for Theology and Ministry to explore the fortieth anniversary of the publication of Jürgen Moltmann’s Theology of Hope. The forum will ask, What is your recollection of a first encounter with the book? what claimed and claims you in it? what future does this theology have? The Conference Planning Committee invites interested scholars, including research students, to submit the title and an abstract (250-300 words) of a short paper, to cgf@christologia.net by Friday February 24, 2012. Further information can be found at the Forum website: http://crucifiedgod.christologia.net.
