Congratulations to Dr Peter Sherlock on his appointment as the inaugural Vice-Chancellor of Australia’s newest and first ever ‘Specialised University’ – MCD University of Divinity. Dr Sherlock will remain in his current position as Dean of the United Faculty of Theology until mid March and will take up his new role in April this year, after a vacation break. Planning is currently underway for the transition period. The UFT Community would like to extend prayers and good wishes to Peter as he prepares for his new role.

2. UFT enrolments close 16 February 2012
All new and returning students are reminded that the final date for first semester enrolment forms to be submitted to the UFT office is Thursday 16 February 2012.
All the information you need to re-enrol is available on our website: see information for New students and Existing students, Timetables and Enrolment forms. Hard copies of forms may be collected from CTM/UFT reception or the UFT office. Students seeking course advice are advised to contact the Dean by email on dean@uft.edu.au, or to telephone the UFT office on 9340 8890 for a phone or personal appointment. Enrolled students may withdraw from units without penalty up until Census Date. An MCD Change of Enrolment form should be submitted by Thursday 15 March 2012 to the UFT office.
3. 2012 Units requiring early enrolments
Students are reminded that some units in first semester 2012 have an earlier closing date as classes begin prior to the 27 February 2012. The enrolment date for the following units must completed by 5pm on the specified dates:
a. Caring and Teaching in Church and Community by Monday 30 January 2012
b. Introduction to Theological Studies by Monday 6 February 2012
c. New Testament Greek A by 13 February 2012.

7. Yves Congar an Vatican II Conference
Catholic Institute of Sydney 99 Albert Road Strathfield Sydney. Friday evening 8 June till Sunday Afternoon 11 June 2012 including launch of the English translation of Congar’s My Journal of the Council. On June long weekend this year ATF with Catholic Institute of Sydney will be running a Conference on Vatican II which will include the launch of the translation from French of the Dairy by Yves Congar which he wrote at the time of the Council and was embargoed by him till the year 2000.
Please go to the ATF press web site and scroll down for the flyer and registration form. There are quite a number of slots in the program for participant papers so please consider submitting one. The cut off date for early bird registrations is 31 March 2012. While Vatican II was a Roman Catholic gathering, participant papers can come from a range of Christian traditions and not just Catholic.
