This unit will consider some of the issues raised by feminists for theology and the life of the Christian community. It will also examine and critique feminist theological perspectives on God, humanity, Church, spirituality and ecology.

Learning Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of this unit, it is expected that students will be able to:

  1. assess critically the major Christian doctrines in the light of feminist theological scholarship
  2. recognise the diversity of feminist theologies
  3. demonstrate critical understanding of the writings of at least one feminist theologian.
